Riva Starr (Stefano Miele when he’s at home) landed in the record boxes of the worlds finest DJs in 2009 with tracks such as Maria on Kindisch and La Conga on Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird label, and since then his crazy eclectic styles have attracted showers of praise from the likes of David Rodigan, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Gilles Peterson, A Trak... His DJ career has taken him to all corners of planet Earth playing Source Of Light (Amsterdam), Cocoon (Frankfurt), Watergate (Berlin), Warehouse Project (Manchester), Kuala Lumpur, Miami, South Korea, we are talking truly global. His remix career reads like a who’s who of happening music – Plan B, Estelle, Azari & III, Major Lazer, Gossip, Wiley...
His sophomore album ‘Hand In Hand’ was released on July 1st by Snatch!, KSR and Central Station. Singles ‘Kill Me’ released May 20th and ‘Absence’ have been released to much acclaim, and the recent remix competition for his DJ Sneak collab In Da House Tonight garnered hundreds upon hundreds of entries. With the album featuring collaborations with Roots Manuva, The Italian legend Carmen Consoli, Mercury winner Speech Debelle, and Rssll (former frontman of The Research), we can hardly contain our excitement.
The flagship track 'Eat Sleep Rave Repeat' has catapulted the DJ into the mainstream; a
collaboration with Fatboy Slim and Beardyman which reached number 3 in the UK singles chart in 2013.
So far this year has seen the release of the 'Faliing On Acid'
EP and of course Riva Starr's usual hectic worldwide touring schedule.
